Courtesy of Pete Wentz of altrockers Fall Out Boy at a recent concert in Charlotte, NC:
"'You can leave this show and say, "I think this guy is an arrogant jerk," or think, "This band is better than this one," because these are your opinions. The only thing we consider unacceptable is for you to engage in sexist, racist or homophobic behavior. If you do, we don't want you as a fan. Return our merch and leave.' "
The reason it is the quote of the day is that the statement enraged some dumbass mother in the audience that didn't want her daughters to hear that they should 'love thy neighbor'. She thinks because of his statement that Fall Out Boy concerts are now "liberal homosexual rallies" and says, "...my children will not be a part of your sick idea of family." She has fired off angry letters to the members of the band and their record company and has vowed to start a boycott of the band that will ruin them. Puuuulease! Bitch, get a hobby.
Anyway, Pete Wentz has posted her letter and responded to her on the band's website and says they're not going to change their opinions or attitudes to be more popular or please bitches like her (my name for her, not his). You can read the whole story here:
VH1
So, for his awesome concert statement and promise to keep on fighting the good fight, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz has the quote of the day. BTW Pete, you are welcome to attend any of my own private 'liberal homosexual rallies' anytime you want. You're hot.
Pete Wentz: Taking on homophobes, one stupid bitchy mother at a time.
